Fremont County School District No. 2

Guidance Counselor

Greetings! My name is Mike Marcus, and I am the school counselor at Dubois K-12 School. I have been in the field of education for over 20 years, mostly as a school counselor. I thoroughly enjoy my role in helping students pursue their passions and interests. It’s very rewarding to be part of a school community and to support students to grow and mature into successful and productive young adults. My goal as a school counselor is to help support students become the best students they are capable of being by providing academic and social/emotional support services. I provide weekly guidance lessons for grades K through sixth grade, and focus areas include grit, growth, mindset, and mindfulness. I also coordinate ACT testing, FAFSA night, scholarships, and post-secondary planning for our high school students.

Education

  • I completed my M.S. at the University of Wyoming and received my degree in education/school counseling.
  • I completed my B.A. degree at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington and received my degree in behavioral science.
  • I am a proud Wyoming High School graduate, as well. I received my high school diploma from Douglas High School.
