How to Access Canvas as a Parent
We have broken this guide into two sections, depending on the device you will be using to connect to Canvas. Section one covers access using a computer, and section two covers access using a mobile device. You will only need to create an account one time regardless of how you access canvas. Once you have created your account, you will use your email address and password to log in. Your account will then work on both a computer and a mobile device.
From a Computer
- Open your preferred web browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.).
- Go to the FCSD#2 Canvas login page.
- Select the link up towards the top-right labeled “Parent of a Canvas User?”
- Enter your name, email address, and your desired password.
- Have your student create a pairing code by following these steps:
- Log into Canvas using their school-issued device.
- Select Account.
- Select Settings.
- Select “Pair with Observer” on the right side of the page to display the pairing code. - Enter the code from your student’s device in the “Student Pairing Code” box and select the “Start Participating” button.
From a Phone
- Open the App Store or Google Play Store depending on your device.
- Search for “Canvas Parent” and download the app or use the links below to download the app.
- Canvas Parent - App for Android
- Canvas Parent - App for iPhone - Open the app and select the “Find School” button.
- Type in Fremont and then select “Fremont County School District 2.”
- Select “Create Account” underneath “Parent of a Canvas User?” at the bottom.
- Enter your name, email address, and your desired password.
- Have your student create a pairing code by following these steps:
- Log into Canvas using their school-issued device.
- Select Account.
- Select Settings.
- Select “Pair with Observer” on the right side of the page to display the pairing code. - Enter the code from your student’s device in the “Student Pairing Code” box and select the “Start Participating” button.
